A literary and cultural festival celebrating 250 months of Sahitya Dasoha

Bengaluru, June 30: A rare grand literary ceremony took place this morning at the Indian Institute of World Culture, BP Wadia Road, Basavanagudi, Bangalore.

The members of Samnaviya Samiti Kannadave Satya Pratisthana WhatsApp Forum will present the literary works of their members on the second Saturday of every month under the chairmanship of a member, film it and publish it on the YouTube channel, all the presentations in PDF format along with suitable colorful and attractive photographs will be made available to all literature lovers by publishing them on its website for free.

First started on 15.8.1999 at a member’s house Sahitya Dasoha was held at member’s homes until the arrival of Covid and then through Google Meet and the 250th Sahitya Dasoha was held on 14.06.2026. Mr. Mallepuram Venkatesh, former chancellor of Karnataka Sanskrit University, famous Kannada writer, was present at the celebration today.

The function was presided over by Sri Ben Sri Ravindra, Chairman of the Coordination Committee Kannadaway Sathya Pratisthan. The program began with prayers by Smt. Manjula V Marathe and the Chief Guest and Foundation office bearers lighting the Jyoti and placing flowers on the portrait of Principal Hcheske.

Mr. S. Dhirendra, Member of the Foundation’s Steering Committee, welcomed everyone. Executive Board Member of the Foundation Mr Sreerangarajan then gave a comprehensive introduction to all the activities of the foundation in his introductory speech explaining the path Sahitya Dasoha has taken. Published by the Foundation Introduction to “Sherupete Pada Bivarana Kosha” by Mr. BS Chandrasekhar on behalf of the editor of the works.

Along with this book, a collection of articles published in the ‘Nanu Murkhanade’ campaign held on the platform on 1st April and children’s stories campaign held on the platform last Shravan month, a collection of selected stories published on the platform ‘Thutthuri’ and the opinion of the members of the Coordination Committee Kannadave Sathya Odisha, and also the birth, development and precious shadow pictures of the Coordination Committee Bharatiya State Bank Kannada Associations in memory of the Principal Hcheske. Introducing the many ongoing programs Dr. Mallepuram Venkatesh inaugurated the celebratory issue of “Savi Spandana” and honored the editors with a memento.

On this occasion, also to the 16 members of the Sasakasa Forum who contributed significantly to conduct Sahitya Dasoha
Honored with “Service Recognition” memento. A short introduction was given to the honored members by Ms. Renuka Desai, Executive Committee Member of the Foundation. Later, the chief guests presented the 38 works created by the members of the forum and honored the authors of those works with souvenirs. A short introduction of the author and the work by the famous writer, poetess, Smt. Shubshri Prasad did it.

Dr.||Mallepuram Venkatesh while speaking expressed his appreciation for the Stock Exchange Word Explanation Kosha released today. Expressing his happiness that he got the opportunity to present a new record of 42 works to the world, he mentioned and expressed his appreciation for the coordination between authors and author publishers in today’s business world. Sasakasa presided over the foundation and the ceremony Shri Bem Shri Ravindra requested the chief guests to exert their influence on the Government of Karnataka to resume wholesale purchase of Kannada books for its libraries as soon as possible.

He wished all the authors who agreed to present their books to the world in today’s ceremony. After the podium ceremony, Sahitya Dasoha will introduce the path he has taken The members of Sasakas were going to perform a play called “Sahitya Doha” and the audience was requested to watch it and then take bojana and leave.

Mr. Ravi Kusubi, Joint Secretary, Sasakasa Foundation, who moderated the program, requested that all the books released today are available at discounted rates and take advantage of it. Salutations to all dignitaries, media friends, publishers, caterers, management and staff of Indian Institute of World Culture who participated in the program. Shri HR Gururaja Shastri, Member of the Executive Committee submitted on behalf of the Foundation.

Later the play “Dasoha Doha” composed by S Dhirendra, member of Sasakasa Convening Committee, was performed to a packed audience who expressed their appreciation with tremendous applause. The memorable four-hour ceremony ended with President of the Pratishthan Sri Bem Sri Rabindra giving mementos to those who played roles in the play.
