Bengaluru, July, 4: Friday (03.07.2026) ʼLiteracy Kitsʼ consisting of notebooks and school bags were distributed to more than 400 primary and high school children at Rani Saraladevi Educational Institutions, run by the Mysore Bank Employees’ Education Society in Jayanagar, Bangalore, in collaboration with the local Rotary Prime Club.
Mrs. Juhi Smitha Sinha, Chief General Manager, Bangalore Region, State Bank of India, who was Chief Guest, distributed kits to the children and said that the children should have a definite vision from now onwards for a bright future. In this direction, besides getting traditional education they should also develop skills right away. There are plenty of opportunities to become entrepreneurs. There is a high demand for jobs in the banking sector also, she said. As an executive representing State Bank of India, she praised the efforts of the Mysore Bank Education Society, in successfully running the school over seven decades as well as the support being extended by the Rotary Club to Rani Saraladevi Educational Institutions.

Rotarian Arvind Salampuria, a renowned enterpreneur and literacy kit sponsorer, spoke and recalled the inseparable ties between Rani Saraladevi Educational Institution and the Rotary Club and said that the Club will continue to provide more such supports in future as well.
Smt. Indira Raghu, President of Rotary Prime, delivered the introductory speech. B. Kodandaram, President of the Educational Institutions, who presided over the function, said that it is a privilege him that the Chief General Manager of the State Bank of India had visited the institution started and led by the Bank of Mysore Ltd., as early as 1955 and also recalled the collaboration of the Rotary Prime institution in this regard.

At the beginning, K. Lakshmeesha, Vice President of the institution, welcomed the gathering after a prayer by Kum. Yashaswini,. a high school student. Sunil Babu, Principal of PU College, proposed the vote of thanks, while Smt. Lakshmi Ganesh compered the programme.
