Bengaluru: Shri V. VENKATASUBRAMANIAN has taken over as the Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle, Bengaluru on 07.09.2026. His jurisdiction covers South Western Railway, Southern Railway, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited, Chennai Metro Rail Limited and Kochi Metro Rail Limited. He is an Officer of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers, 1993 Examination Batch.
He has worked in Chennai, Salem, and Palakkad divisions of Southern Railway and Bangalore Division of South Western Railway. He has been associated with Electric Loco Maintenance and operations, as well as construction & maintenance of traction distribution. Prior to assuming charge, he was Executive Director in the Railway Board, in charge of Electric and Diesel locomotives and crew.
