Bengaluru, Sep. 2: Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) organised a series of roadshows in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata accompanied by a delegation of over 22 partners from Mauritius to showcase the destination and their respective products to approximately 100 TOs and agencies from the three cities.
The roadshow series was kickstarted on September 2, 2024, in Bengaluru. It exclusively featured a press conference where Mr. Arvind Bundhun, the Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) interacted with journalists from prominent media houses in city and surrounding regions. This was followed by Hyderabad and Calcutta roadshows.
Reflecting on the success of the three-city event, Mr. Arvind Bundhun, the Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA), shared: “These roadshows are part of our elaborate strategy for highlighting Mauritius’ diverse tourism offerings in major Indian cities. We have chosen these cities based on the travel potential and multiple segments of travelers present in each city. The collaborations fostered and insights derived will help us cater to the demands of Indian travellers more strongly.”
The island attracts a wide range of travellers including leisure, business, honeymooners, adventure lovers, and water sports enthusiasts. Moreover, it is conveniently accessible from India, thanks to generous direct flight options and a hassle-free visa-on-arrival facility for Indian passport holders.
Mr. Sunil Mathapati, Country Manager – MTPA India, also conveyed his sentiments post event: “The response generated by the roadshows in all three cities has been remarkable, and pivotal to our purpose of promoting Mauritius in key markets. As a destination with breathtaking visual and sensory offerings, Mauritius can become the ultimate holiday paradise for Indian travellers. The goal of these events is to emphasise this very potential.”
MTPA is actively engaged in promoting Mauritius as a visa upon arrival and versatile destination that ticks all the boxes for the Indian travellers, A calendar of activities is ongoing to ensure that sustained marketing, promotional and digital actions are conducted towards showcasing Mauritius as an island destination that offers relaxation, rejuvenation, and entertainment while being a beyond the beach destination.
There are nonstop flights by Air Mauritius from Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai and Vistara from Mumbai offer direct connectivity between Mauritius and India. The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport serves as the primary gateway to this idyllic destination.
The Mauritian government has a ‘Visa on arrival’, a Single-Entry Visa, obtained at the airport, facilitating travel from India.
