Located in Bengaluru, the facility was inaugurated by Shri Priyank Kharge, Hon’ble Minister of Electronics, IT & BT (Information Technology and Biotechnology), Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Karnataka.

ZEISS India Global Capability Center is a strategic hub that will tap into Bengaluru’s deep IT talent pool to drive technology solutions and further expand ZEISS’s global R&D capabilities. The premise spans across 43,000 sq.ft. and will accommodates 600+ employees withdeep domain expertise in the field of Application research for Medical Technologies,Vision care, Cyber Security,Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Excellence and Digital Transformation.The company aims todouble this current workforce by 2028.

Addressing the media and the audience at the inaugural event, Shri Priyank Kharge, Hon’ble Minister of Electronics, IT & BT (Information Technology and Biotechnology), Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Karnataka said, “ZEISS’s journey in India is a testament to our nation’s strength as a premier global investment hub, attracting and retaining top-tier companies. India now hosts over 4,000 Global Capability Centers (GCCs), with Karnataka alone accounting for 38% of these. The collaboration shall seek to accelerate the commercialization of cutting-edge products, such as AI-driven diagnostics and smart optical devices, aiming for a significant percentage of these developments to reach the market within 3 years.

In addition tothe Joint Research and Development (R&D) Program, ZEISS India also announced the collaboration with the Karnataka Government to make quality vision-care more accessible across Karnataka’s rural and underserved regions. Through the Aloka Vision Programby ZEISS, this partnershipwill aim to provide affordable eye-care services to 100,000 individuals over the next 3 years.

The 26th edition of Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS 2023) is scheduled to be held from November 29 – December 1, 2023 at the Bangalore Palace in Bengaluru. Dates for the next two editions were also announced – November 19-21 in both 2024 and 2025. The event dates for the 2024 and 2025 were announced early to encourage international tech organizations to plan their participation well in advance. This is a testament to Karnataka’s continued commitment to the growth of the sector, while transcending national & international boundaries through collaborations.  

Prior to the press meet, a Breakfast Meet was held where Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Siddaramaiah interacted with 100+ CEOs of leading IT, Semiconductor & Electronics and Biotech organizations. Also present at this 2-hour breakfast meet, were Shri D. K. Shivakumar, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Priyank Kharge, Hon’ble Minister for IT, Bt Govt. of Karnataka;Dr. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairperson, Vision Group on Biotechnology and Shri Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, Vision Group on Information Technology. This interactive Meet enabled open dialogue between the Government and Tech Leadership on the backdrop of the upcoming BTS 2023, with discussions focusing on Karnataka’s thriving tech ecosystem and the
road ahead.  

The interactions were facilitated by leading industry associations like NASSCOM, IESA, TiE and ABLE. With the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2023 just around the corner, from November 29th to December 1st at the grand Bangalore Palace, the city is once again poised to showcase India’s technology strength to the world and engage with global tech community.  

In a world where emerging technologies are reshaping the very foundations of industry and innovation, Bengaluru Tech Summit 2023 stands at the forefront of this transformation with the focal theme: Breaking Boundaries which encapsulates the spirit of innovation, disruption, & exploration across geographies and industries.

Bengaluru Tech Summit 2023 will feature a diverse and enriching Event Spectrum, encompassing a Multi-Track Conference on IT & Electronics, Deep Tech, Start-Ups & Biotech, an International Exhibition, Global Innovation Alliance, India-USA Tech Conclave, India Innovation Alliance, R&D-Lab2Market, B2B Meetings, STPI IT Export Awards, Smart Bio Awards, Startup Recognition, Rural IT Quiz, Bio Quiz, and
Bio Posters. 

The Multi-Track Conference at BTS 2023 will include focus areas like Emerging Tech including AI & DeepTech, Quantum Computing & 6G, Semiconductors and Electronics Manufacturing, Gaming & e-Sports, Future Mobility, Climate Tech, Social Entrepreneurship, Biotech for sustainability and Health Tech Innovations. Large delegations from the Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) Partner nations are expected to participate in the event.
