ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನವೆಂಬರ್ 15: ವೃಂದಾವನದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಇಂದ್ರನ ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಪರಮಾತ್ಮ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಗೋವರ್ಧನ ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿದ ನೆನಪಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ ಮಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ (ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ - ನವೆಂಬರ್) ಗೋವರ್ಧನ ಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ವೃಂದಾವನದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಇಂದ್ರಯಜ್ಞಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನಾದ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಇಂದ್ರನ ಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಗೋವರ್ಧನ ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸುವಂತೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದನು. ಇದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದ ಇಂದ್ರನು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ವೃಂದಾವನದ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿನಾಶಕಾರಿ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ತನ್ನ ಕಿರುಬೆರಳಿನಿಂದ ಗೋವರ್ಧನ ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡನು ಮತ್ತು ಅದು ವೃಂದಾವನದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು....
