Bengaluru, Sep. 23: Lulumall Bengaluru, the premier shopping destination in the city, hosted a grand celebration of the Onam festival on September 21st, 2024. The event, titled “Lulu Onam Habba 2024,” was organized in association with the Kerala Samajam of Bangalore, The day-long festivities were a vibrant showcase of the traditions, customs, and artistic expressions that define Onam, one of the most important and widely celebrated harvest festivals in the southern Indian state.
The celebration commenced with a stunning Pookkalam competition, where intricate and colourful floral arrangements, a quintessential Onam tradition, adorned the grounds of Lulumall. Visitors were captivated by the artistic talents of the participants as they vied to create the most elaborate and visually striking Pookkalams. Complementing this was the Kerala Shreeman and Malayali Manka competition, which celebrated the regal beauty and grace of the people of Kerala through traditional attire and performances.
Throughout the day, the event was filled with a diverse array of cultural and traditional performances that transported the audience to the lush, verdant landscapes of Kerala. The rhythmic and energetic Pulikali, or tiger dance, mesmerized onlookers with its vibrant costumes and intricate movements. The serene and graceful Mohiniyattam, a classical dance form, enchanted the crowd with its fluid gestures and expressive storytelling. The lively Thiruvathira, a traditional dance performed by women, added to the festive atmosphere, with its synchronized steps and joyous celebration of the season.
