The facility — inaugurated by Shri Priyank Kharge, minister for Electronics, IT and Biotechnology, Government of Karnataka supports the continued expansion of capabilities across AI engineering, cloud platform development, data and analytics, digital transformation and insurance operations aligned with the company’s global strategy.

ಇಸ್ಕಾನ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಧುಪಂಡಿತ ದಾಸ್ ಅವರು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಧಾ ಕೃಷ್ಣಚಂದ್ರರ 29ನೇ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮೋತ್ಸವವು ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿದೆ. ಕಳೆದ 29 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಹರೇ ಕೃಷ್ಣ   ಗಿರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಅದೃಷ್ಟ. ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು, ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮತ್ತು ಯುವಕರು ಸೇರಿ ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಭಕ್ತರು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ನಮಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಖುಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮೋತ್ಸವದಂತಹ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳು ಜನರನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಸೇವೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ನಂಟನ್ನು ಗಟ್ಟಿಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಧಾ ಕೃಷ್ಣಚಂದ್ರರು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ, ಶಾಂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ” ಎಂದರು.

Naveen Shankar, film actor & Kannada Filmfare award winner, commended the initiative of Jain University and the festival, stating “Opportunities like these film festivals remind us that cinema is not just about big screens, but about ideas, passion, and the courage to start. What starts as a small effort in a college campus can grow into something truly impactful. It’s encouraging to see students being given the space to explore their creativity and build a voice of their own.” Further he added, “short films, in particular, offer an incredible platform for aspiring filmmakers to experiment, understand the craft, and experience the realities of cinema at a foundational level. I am truly impressed by the initiative taken by Jain University to create such platform of opportunities to showcase creative talents and connect enthusiastic students with film industry.”

Underscoring the importance of creativity and its origin in the category of short films, Dr. Dinesh Nilkant, Pro-Vice Chancellor, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) “Creativity makes a difference with the best talents always budding from the colleges and universities and not from big studios. We at Jain University are building such platforms to nurture future film makers.”

Accentuating the development of short films from a base to important platforms, Dr. Kiran S Deputy-Dean of Academics, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) stated “Short films are no longer stepping stones, they are powerful storytelling formats in their own right.”

Dr. Sangeeta Devanathan, Deputy-Dean of Academics, Professor, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) highlighted the importance of critical thinking in short films stating “Critical thinking requires us to think creatively.” She further compared the current scenario of short films to mainstream films stating that “Gone are the days of movies running two to three hours giving the audience a compelling reason to stay, however now, the short film format is truly the future of storytelling in this art form.”

Dr. Bhargavi D. Hemmige, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) reiterated, “The third edition of Jain University short film festival received an impressive number of over 90 short film registrations from across India, reflecting its growing reach and recognition among emerging filmmakers nationwide.” She further added, “notably, JUSFF’26 received submissions associated with reputed names in the film industry, including Vijay Sethupathi Productions and Ravi Basrur, renowned music director of KGF and Salaar, among others.”

Reflecting on his experience as the Jury, Mr. Naveen Dwarakanath Producer, Director, Theatre Actor and Writer, “As a jury member, I’ve watched several films and what stands out is the evolving storytelling quality among young creators; Cinema connects people, it builds emotional bonds, even within families. That’s the beauty of it!” Applauding the event, he stated “This is not just about organizing an event, it truly feels like a festival. From start to finish, the process is thoughtfully executed, and the quality of films has seen a remarkable leap for the film industry.”

The first day of the event showcased the talents and skills under the student category by screening 12 shortlisted short films in JUSFF, a platform dedicated to the upcoming filmmakers. The second day will feature the professional category short films, followed by valedictory announcing the winners under the following categories: Best Actor Male, Best Actor Female, Best Cinematography, Best Film & Best Director for both the categories.

Dr. Leena James, Professor, School of Business & Management, and Chair, UNAI SDG 5 Global Hub, emphasised the need for a mindset shift towards true empowerment, stating: “Curiosity, the willingness to learn, unlearn and relearn, that gives you wings, that gives you freedom to explore. The world does not owe us any favours because we are females.” She added, “Inclusion gets you a seat on the table and diversity will ensure voice on the table.” Underlining financial empowerment as a cornerstone of equality, she further noted, “Financial independence is not about earning money to take care of yourself, it’s about being able to handle your finances.”

Dr. Dinesh Nilkant, Pro Vice-Chancellor, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), underscored the transformative role of technology in nation-building, stating: “Artificial intelligence must not only drive innovation but also bridge long-standing gender and financial divides. Its true power lies in democratising opportunity, ensuring that every woman has equal access to financial systems, knowledge, and avenues for growth. Inclusive technology will be the cornerstone of a truly developed and equitable India.” He further added, “Innovation creates impact when ideas go beyond boundaries and serve society.”

Dr. Roopa Traisa A, Associate Professor & Organising committee Member, Faculty of Management Studies, highlighted the need for equitable leadership opportunities, stating: “Women form a significant share of the workforce, yet remain underrepresented in leadership, reflecting a persistent glass ceiling. Bridging this gap requires fair promotions, pay parity, and unbiased succession planning.”

The panel discussion, centered around AI: Advancing Gender and Financial Inclusion for Viksit Bharat 2047,” featured Ms. Asha Sampath, Founder Brand Horizon and Brand Advisor, Ms. Aswathy Girijadevi, Director, Software Engineering, Data & AI Enablement, Ford Pro, Ms. Vijayashanti C G, Program Director, Software Factory, Cross-Domain Computing Solutions, Bosch Global Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Sangeeta Devanathan, Deputy Dean, Academics, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) and moderator Mr. Vineeth Ravindran, Assistant Professor and Member, TD-PCL Working Committee, JU-CMS. The panel discussion accentuated that inclusive growth must extend beyond economic metrics to ensure equitable participation.

Drawing on live experiences, speakers highlighted lifelong learning, challenging gender stereotypes, and the role of supportive family structures in advancing women’s progress. The panel addressed both the opportunities and risks of AI, noting its potential to expand access while also reinforcing bias if built on skewed data. Panellists called for responsible AI, stronger grassroots efforts in education and healthcare, and policy support for economic inclusion. A key takeaway was the need to move from representation to meaningful participation, ensuring not just a seat at the table but a voice. The session concluded with a call for financial independence, confidence, and active engagement, especially among young women, to build an inclusive and sustainable Viksit Bharat 2047.

ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಧನೆಗೈದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಾ. ದೀಪ ದೇವರಾಜ್ (MBBS, MD, FICC, FEM), ನೃತ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತ ಮಂದಸ್ಮಿತಾ ಭಟ್, ಗಾಯನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಗಾಯಕಿ ಚಂದ್ರಿಕಾ ಗುರುರಾಜ್, ಯೋಗ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣವೇಣಿ, ಸಂಗೀತ-ಗಮಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಮಲ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ನಾಗರತ್ನಾ ರಾಮಮೂರ್ತಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರಾಧಾ ಕೇಶವ ಹೆಬ್ಬಾರ್ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀ ತೀರ್ಥಹಳ್ಳಿ ರಮೇಶ್ ಮತ್ತು ತಂಡದಿಂದ ಗಾಯನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ, ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಂದ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಂದಸ್ಮಿತಾ ಭಟ್ ಅವರ ನೃತ್ಯ ತಂಡದಿಂದ ನೃತ್ಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ನಡೆಯಿತು.

Positioned as a pioneering initiative, the Golden Hour Network is a structured, professional trauma care community that brings together surgeons trained within the HOSMAT ecosystem under a shared commitment to rapid, precise, and outcome-driven trauma care.

More than an alumni collective, GHN is designed as a co-governed clinical and academic network, with a defined programme of monthly clinical rounds, quarterly specialty-focused discussions, and an annual TraumaCon gathering as its apex platform.

Named after the critical “golden hour”, the first hour following injury where timely intervention determines survival, the network reflects a deeper philosophy: that trauma care is not defined by institutions, but by the urgency, precision, and shared responsibility of the clinicians delivering it. Over the next six months, the network will establish its governance structure, onboard senior alumni, and initiate its first clinical engagements.

The launch of GHN underscores HOSMAT’s evolution beyond a high-volume clinical institution into a research-led and academically driven centre of excellence in orthopaedics and trauma care.

Over the past 33+ years , HOSMAT has built one of the country’s most significant trauma ecosystems, performing 25 to 30 trauma surgeries daily , placing it among India’s highest-volume trauma centres. The institution has also contributed extensively to academic medicine, leading over 300 research initiatives, with more than 80 publications in internationally indexed journals , and playing a key role in shaping clinical practice in orthopaedics and trauma.

Its impact on medical education is equally significant. According to Orthopaedic Society of India estimates, nearly 10% of Bengaluru’s orthopaedic surgeons have trained at HOSMAT, reinforcing its role as a major training hub for the next generation of specialists. Over the decades, HOSMAT has also touched nearly one-third of Bengaluru’s population through trauma care , reflecting both its scale and community trust.

Held at the ITC Welcome Hotel, Richmond Road, Traumacon 2026 brought together 150+ leading orthopaedic surgeons, trauma specialists, and clinicians from across India, creating a platform for real-world learning, surgical innovation, and collaborative problem-solving. The event was held in memory of Late Dr Thomas Chandy, a globally respected orthopaedic surgeon and pioneer in trauma care, whose legacy continues to guide the institution’s clinical and academic philosophy.

India continues to face one of the highest trauma burdens globally, with over 4.8 lakh road accidents annually and nearly 1.7–1.8 lakh deaths each year , making trauma one of the leading causes of mortality among young adults. Against this backdrop, Traumacon 2026 was conceptualised to address a critical gap – the need for practice-led, experience-driven learning platforms that directly impact patient outcomes.

The conference featured a comprehensive, full-day scientific agenda with over 25+ expert-led sessions, covering upper limb trauma, complex lower limb injuries, paediatric trauma, non-union surgeries, complication management, medico-legal aspects, and orthopaedic practice efficiency. A defining feature of the conference was its case-based and discussion-led format, enabling clinicians to engage with real-world scenarios and refine decision-making in high-pressure environments.

Reflecting on the significance of the conference and the launch of GHN, Anisha Chandy Eckardt, Managing Director, HOSMAT Hospitals , said: “Trauma care in India does not suffer from a lack of clinical expertise – it suffers from gaps in time, training, and integration. That is the direction we see for ourselves in the years to come – where clinical excellence is deeply integrated with academic leadership, research, and innovation.”

Adding perspective on the legacy behind the institution, Dr Subodh M Shetty, President, Orthopaedic Society of India, said : “Dr Thomas Chandy was not just a surgeon – he was a mentor who shaped generations of orthopaedic and trauma specialists in this country. Many of today’s leading surgeons carry forward his approach to precision, discipline, and patient-first care. What we see today in Traumacon is a reflection of that legacy – a commitment to learning, sharing, and continuously improving. The Golden Hour Network, in that sense, is a powerful extension of his vision. It has the potential to bring together expertise across the country and significantly strengthen trauma response systems where it matters most.”

With strong participation, high engagement, and a uniquely practical approach, HOSMAT Traumacon 2026, along with the launch of the Golden Hour Network, marks a significant step towards building a more integrated, collaborative, and research-driven trauma care ecosystem in India.
