ಗಣ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಸ್ವಾಗತ

ನವೆಂಬರ್ 27ರಂದು ನಡೆದ ಅದ್ದೂರಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಡಿನ ಮತ್ತು ದೇಶದ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾದರು. ಸಿರಿಧಾನ್ಯಗಳ ಹರಿಕಾರ ಸಿರಿಧಾನ್ಯಗಳ ಹರಿಕಾರ ಎಂದೇ ಹೆಸರಾದ ಪದ್ಮಶ್ರೀ ಡಾ. ಖಾದರ್ ವಲಿ, ಕಾರ್ಗಿಲ್ ಯುದ್ಧದ ವೀರಯೋಧ ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಮ ವೀರ ಚಕ್ರ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತರೂ ಆದ ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಕ್ಯಾಪ್ಟನ್ ಯೋಗೇಂದ್ರ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಯಾದವ್ ಅವರು, ಕರ್ನಲ್ ಜೈ ಶಂಕರ್ ಬಾಬು ಅವರು ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಸಿ. ಬಿ. ಮಹೇಶ್ವರಪ್ಪ ಅವರು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಯಲಹಂಕದ ಶಾಸಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಸ್.ಆರ್. ವಿಶ್ವನಾಥ್ ಅವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 

ಶಾಲೆಯ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸುಶೀಲಾ ಸಂತೋಷ್  ಅವರು ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಲಾ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಎತ್ತಿನ ಗಾಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವೇದಿಕೆಗೆ ಕರೆತರುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಸೊಗಡಿನ ಅದ್ದೂರಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಕೋರಲಾಯಿತು. 5 ರಿಂದ 12 ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಪೋಷಕರು ಈ ಅಪರೂಪದ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾದರು.

‘ವೀರ ಭೂಮಿ’ ಮತ್ತು ‘ಕೃಷಿ ಜ್ಞಾನ’ ಯಾತ್ರೆಯ ಅನುಭವ

ಈ ಬೃಹತ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗಾಗಿ ಶಾಲಾ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿ, ಕಳೆದ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳಿನಿಂದ ಸತತವಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸಿದೆ.. ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸುಶೀಲಾ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ರೂಪಿಸಲಾದ ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯು, ಕೇವಲ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗಿರದೆ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ ಅನುಭವ ನೀಡುವ ಗುರಿ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. 

“ವೀರ ಭೂಮಿ ಯಾತ್ರೆ”ಯ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸೇನಾ ನೆಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ದು, ಸೇನೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯವೈಖರಿಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ, “ಕೃಷಿ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಯಾತ್ರೆ”ಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಕೃಷಿ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳ ನೇರ ಅನುಭವವನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಲೆಫ್ಟಿನೆಂಟ್ ಕರ್ನಲ್ ಸುಮಿತ್ ರಂಜನ್ ಬಸು ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೈನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಗೌರವ, ಆಹಾರ ಭದ್ರತೆ, ಸುಸ್ಥಿರತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಾವಲಂಬನೆಯಂತಹ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿತ್ತಲಾಯಿತು. ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಯವರು ಅಂದು ನೀಡಿದ ಕರೆಯಂತೆ, ದೇಶದ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃಷಿ ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆ ಎರಡೂ ದೇಶದ ಪ್ರಗತಿಗೆ ಅವಶ್ಯಕ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಾರಲಾಯಿತು. 

ಕಣ್ಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಸಂಜೆ

ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಈ ಹಬ್ಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೃಷಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇನೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ವಿಶೇಷ ವಸ್ತು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆಕರ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದವು . ಭತ್ತದ ಕೃಷಿ, ನೇಯ್ಗೆ, ಜೇನುಸಾಕಣೆಯಂತಹ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಪದ್ಧತಿಗಳ ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಇಂದಿನ ಆಧುನಿಕ ಕೃಷಿ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯಾದ ಹೈಡ್ರೋಪೋನಿಕ್ಸ್ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸುವ ಮಳಿಗೆಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸೇನೆಯ ಶೌರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ತ್ಯಾಗವನ್ನು ಬಿಂಬಿಸುವ ಮಾದರಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಪೋಸ್ಟರ್‌ಗಳ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶಪ್ರೇಮವನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೀಪನಗೊಳಿಸಿವರು. ಸಂಜೆ ನಡೆದ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ “ಜೈ ಕಿಸಾನ್” ಮತ್ತು “ಬಾರ್ಡರ್ ಟು ಬಾರ್ನ್ಸ್” (ಗಡಿಯಿಂದ ಗೋದಾಮಿನವರೆಗೆ) ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯಾಧಾರಿತ ನಾಟಕಗಳು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗೊಂಡವು. ಇವು ಕೃಷಿ ಬದುಕು ಮತ್ತು ಸೈನಿಕರ ಜೀವನದ ನೈಜ ಚಿತ್ರಣವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಟ್ಟವು.

The Minister who gave awards to outstanding exporters, organised by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), highlighted Karnataka’s contribution to India’s export success. The state’s strengths are in IT, aerospace, biotechnology, coffee, textiles, and manufacturing. Karnataka recorded exports worth USD 159,019 million in FY 2024–25, securing the top position nationally, he mentioned.

“Exports are not just about foreign exchange earnings; they are about job creation, competitiveness, and India’s global positioning. Karnataka is proud of its exporters, and the state government remains a committed partner in their progress,” Reddy said while congratulating the award winners.

On state policies, Reddy defended the government’s guarantee schemes, stating that far from weakening fiscal discipline, they had injected over ₹96,000 crore into the economy, boosted GST collections, and increased women’s workforce participation by 23%.

As Transport Minister, he emphasized Karnataka’s ongoing efforts to modernize transport infrastructure, expand highways, enhance multimodal logistics parks, and strengthen rail connectivity to ports. He also cited the Shakti Scheme, now recognized in the Golden Book of World Records, as a transformative step in boosting public transport usage and reducing environmental stress.

The event was presided over by FKCCI Presidenti M. G. Balakrishna, along with President-elect Umareddy; Senior Vice President-elect T. Sairam Prasad, Immediate Past President Ramesh Chandra Lahoti, and Awards Committee Chairman Tippeshappa.

The Minister lauded FKCCI’s 109-year legacy, founded by Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, as a bridge between government and industry. He congratulated Karnataka’s exporters, calling them “ambassadors of Brand Karnataka and Brand India on the global stage.”

The Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award was launched by Aster DM Healthcare in 2021, with an aim to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary contributions of nurses to patients across the world. The 2024 edition of the awards saw an overwhelming participation from 78,000 nurses from 202 countries, marking 50% growth in applications received in 2023.

The event also featured a special message from Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, who congratulated the finalists and acknowledged Aster DM Healthcare’s ongoing efforts to spotlight the critical role of nurses in healthcare.
Commenting on the win, Nurse Maria Victoria Juan said, “As a military nurse from the Philippines, my journey has been defined by a steadfast commitment to service—whether caring in combat zones, disaster-stricken areas, or underserved communities, and ampioning advocacies on every platform to create positive change. This recognition reflects not just my efforts, but also the courage and honor of the soldiers I proudly serve alongside and the resilience of the Filipino people that inspire me daily.

It is also a tribute to the nurses I represent—tireless, selfless, extremely courageous individuals in the military and civilian sectors who put themselves in harm’s way to save lives and protect others. This honor acknowledges the sacrifices of those who serve under the most challenging conditions and highlights the boundless potential and dedication of our noble profession.” Maria Victoria Juan, currently a consultant at Philippine Army Health Services, served as the Chief Nurse of the Philippines Army, she was responsible for initiating the first aeromedical evacuation system in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). This system has greatly improved survival rates by enabling rapid evacuation and early treatment of casualties, especially in conflict areas.

At the age of 54 years, she joined an intensive 9-month long aeromedical evacuation training program while working full-time as a chief nurse. As a leader who believes in leading from the front, she completed 200-hours of emergency ambulance conduction, 100 hours of clinical duty, 1-mile ocean swim, 3-day jungle survival, helicopter underwater escape and flight medical runs, while having a fear of flying and deepwater swimming. Maria also pioneered environmental health initiatives, integrating vetiver grass technology to combat soil erosion and water pollution. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Maria organized the Endurun Mega Swabbing Center, training troops as medical swabbers and coordinating healthcare professionals. The center conducted nearly 500,000 tests, significantly contributing to the country’s pandemic response.

The rest of the 9 finalists, Archimedes Motari from Kenya, Johnsy Inni from Papua New Guinea, Laarni Conlu Florencio from USA, Lilian Nuwabaine from Uganda, Nelson Bautista from UAE, Nilima Pradeepkumar Rane from India, Martin Schiavenato from USA, Hoi Shu Yin from Singapore and Sylvia May Hampton from England were also awarded with a monetary prize for their contributions in nursing. These nurses were selected through a stringent review process run by Ernst Young LLP, a panel of Screening-Jury and the Grand Jury.

The AISL Edition II – 2024 commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony by Ms. Fatema Hunald (Office Managing Partner, Bangalore, Grant Thornton Bharat), Anand Shah (Head – PMS & AIF Investments, ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Ltd), Ms. Pallavi Joshi Bakhru (Partner & Leader, Private Client Services, India-UK Corridor Leader, Grant Thornton Bharat LLP), Sachin Tagra (Managing Partner, JSW Ventures), and Ms. Madhushree Dutta (CEO and Founder, Brand Torque LLP). ವಿಜೇತರು ಬಹುಮಾನದ ಮೊತ್ತ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ 1 ಲಕ್ಷ ಮೌಲ್ಯದ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದರು, ಮೊದಲ ರನ್ನರ್ ಅಪ್ ಬಹುಮಾನದ ಮೊತ್ತ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ 50,000 ಮೌಲ್ಯದ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದರು, ಮತ್ತು ಎರಡನೇ ರನ್ನರ್ ಅಪ್ ಬಹುಮಾನದ ಮೊತ್ತ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ 25,000 ಮೌಲ್ಯದ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದರು.

One of his numerous accomplishments includes serving as the director of Caltech Optical Observatories from 2006 to 2018. Kulkarni’s pioneering work in time-domain astronomy, notably through the Palomar Transient Factory and the Zwicky Transient Facility, has significantly enhanced the understanding of the dynamic sky. The Shaw Prize Foundation stated, “The Shaw Prize in Astronomy is awarded to Shrinivas R. Kulkarni for his ground-breaking discoveries about millisecond pulsars, gamma-ray bursts, supernovae, and other variable or transient astronomical objects.”

Developed by the late Hong Kong philanthropist Run Run Shaw, the Shaw Prize consists of three annual awards in Astronomy, Life Science and Medicine, and Mathematical Sciences, each with a monetary award of USD 1.2 million.

This year marks the 21st time the prize been awarded. Run Run Shaw, who is known for his philanthropy in education, scientific research, healthcare, and the arts, established the Shaw Prize, sometimes called the “Nobel of the East,” The Shaw Foundation Hong Kong and The Sir Run Run Shaw Charitable Trust continue to support these areas.

Kulkarni’s career is distinguished by numerous notable achievements. As detailed in his biography on Caltech’s website, he received his Master of Science degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in 1978 and his PhD from the University of California in 1983. He led the Caltech Optical Observatories as director from 2006 to 2018, significantly advancing the field of observational astronomy. Kulkarni has received many awards, including the National Science Foundation’s Alan T. Waterman Award and the Dan David Prize. He has also authored or co-authored more than 60 papers in the journal Nature by the age of 60.

Under Kulkarni’s guidance, the Palomar Transient Factory made several discoveries in astronomy. The Zwicky Transient Facility has continued this work, helped astronomers study, and understand transient cosmic events. These projects have allowed scientists to observe and analyse short-lived astronomical phenomena, greatly expanding our knowledge of the universe.

ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ ವಿ.ನಂಜುಂಡಪ್ಪ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡು ನುಡಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದವರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಉತ್ತಮ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ. ಈ ಬಾರಿ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ವರ್ಷ ಪೂರ್ತಿ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕಂಪು ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಪಸರಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದರು.

ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ನಟರಾಜ್ ಬಿ.ಪಿ ರವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಕರುನಾಡ ಜನಸ್ಪಂದನ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಹೆಸರೇ ತಿಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಜನಸ್ಪಂದಯೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೂಲ ಉದ್ದೇಶವಾಗಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ವೇದಿಕೆಯು 5 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಹಲವು ಸಮಾಜಮುಖಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ಅದರಂತೆ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ವೀರಯೋಧರಿಗಾಗಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸಾಧಕರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಗಣ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳು ಎಂದರು.
